Russian forces attacked Kyiv with drones in the morning on May 7. Due to the attack, fires and destruction occurred, with killed and injured victims reported, RBC-Ukraine reports, referring to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Telegram channel of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

In particular, rescue workers operated in the Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts. They also shared details on the consequences of the Russian attack for each district.

Sviatoshynskyi district

Debris hit a 9-story residential building. Apartments on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th floors caught fire. The fire was extinguished over an area of 100 square meters. Five people were rescued - one adult and four children (three of the children were hospitalized with burns). Rescue operations are ongoing.

Solomianskyi district

Drone debris fell on an open area.

Dniprovskyi district

A drone hit a multi-story residential building. This caused partial collapse of the floors between the 29th and 30th stories. There were no fires or injuries.

Shevchenkivskyi district

UAV debris fell on a 5-story residential building. Apartments on the 3rd and 5th floors caught fire. During firefighting, the bodies of two people were found. The fire has now been extinguished.

Number of people injured

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that two people were killed and seven more were injured.

"Two were killed in a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital. There, UAV debris hit the upper floors of a five-story residential building. In total, seven people were injured. Among them - four children. Three of the injured were hospitalized. Four received medical assistance on site," Klitschko informed.

Klitschko reported that the number of injured increased to eight.

"The number of injured in the capital has increased to eight. Another woman has been hospitalized. Before that, three children were hospitalized. So, currently, four injured people have been hospitalized. Four others received medical aid on site. Two residents of the capital were killed due to the enemy attack," the statement says.

Russian ballistic strike on Kyiv

Several air raid alerts were announced in Kyiv during the night and morning. The first two were due to a ballistic threat, the other two - because of drones.

After the second air raid alert, the reports indicated that a high-speed target was flying toward Kyiv. Soon after, an explosion was heard, and as the authorities clarified, missile debris fell in the Solomianskyi district.

Due to the Russian attack, a fire broke out in the warehouse facilities. The fire covered an area of about 300 square meters. Klitschko reported that medics were called, but no casualties were reported.
