Peace Formula and return of Ukrainian children: Zelenskyy meets with Canadian Foreign Minister
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Mélanie Joly, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Mélanie arrived today, on February 2, for a visit to Ukraine, according to the press service of the Office of the President.
During the meeting, the president thanked Canada for supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. He expressed gratitude for the financial, military, and humanitarian assistance provided to Kyiv from the early days of the full-scale terrorist invasion.
"This testifies to truly strong relations and partnership. I also want to thank Canada for the government's decision to allocate the next military aid package. This strengthens our Armed Forces to counter the aggressor effectively," added Zelenskyy.

The president informed the Canadian Foreign Minister about the measures to implement the peace formula and preparations and the organization of the Global Peace Summit.
Zelenskyy thanked Canada for its leadership role in the International Coalition for the return of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children. The coalition's meeting is scheduled to take place in Kyiv today.
"For us, the return of all Ukrainian citizens, including children, remains one of the key priorities. We are grateful to Canada for its significant role in creating the International Coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, which will help all our children return home soon," explained the president.
Discussed the preparation of a bilateral document with Canada on security guarantees for Ukraine, which will be concluded shortly.
Coordinated steps for further dialogue between the countries at the highest level and within international organizations.
Visit of the Canadian FM to Ukraine
Today, on February 2, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Melanie Joly, arrived in Kyiv. During her visit, she met with her Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba. The parties discussed:
- Politics, economics, amendments to the free trade agreement between Ukraine and Canada.
- Frozen assets of Russia.
- Sanctions against Russia.
- Implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula, where Canada co-chairs in point 4 - the release of prisoners and deported persons.
- Defense needs of Ukraine.
- Formation of a Coalition for the return of Ukrainian children.
