Pakistan has made strategic decisions following the latest conflict with India. However, the use of nuclear weapons is considered a last resort, said Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in an interview with Reuters.

"We have reinforced our forces because it is (India's invasion - ed.) something which is imminent now. So in that situation, some strategic decisions have to be taken, so those decisions have been taken," Asif emphasized, commenting on the conflict with India.

He added that India's rhetoric has become more aggressive, and that Pakistani military officials had informed the government about the possibility of an Indian attack.

The minister also did not go into detail about the reasons why he believes that an Indian invasion is inevitable.

Asif noted that Pakistan is on heightened military alert. According to him, the country will only use its nuclear arsenal if "there is a direct threat to our existence."

India-Pakistan conflict

Recently, militants attacked a group of tourists in the Kashmir region. According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists killed only those who followed Hinduism.

India has blamed Pakistan for organizing the attack. Additionally, New Delhi temporarily withdrew from the Indus Waters Treaty with Islamabad.
