The case of Tupac Shakur's death has been stirred again by a sensational claim. One of the key figures in the investigation, Duane "Keffe D" Davis, claims that the person who ordered the high-profile 1996 crime was none other than artist and producer Sean "Diddy" Combs, reports USA Today.

Did P. Diddy order Tupac Shakur's murder?

According to the publication, citing documents from the Drug Enforcement Administration, Sean Combs allegedly promised a million dollars for the elimination of Shakur and Death Row Records head Suge Knight.

Recall that on September 7, 1996, after Mike Tyson's fight in Las Vegas, the car carrying Tupac and Knight was shot at from a white Cadillac.

The rapper was fatally wounded and died in the hospital six days later.

His murder became one of the biggest shocks to the music industry and sparked numerous conspiracy theories amid the East Coast-West Coast feud in the U.S.

As early as 2008–2009, Davis first admitted that he was in the attackers' car but insisted that he did not fire any shots.

He agreed to a deal with the prosecution and received partial immunity in exchange for testimony.

Davis explained that the motive was not only revenge for his nephew Orlando Anderson, who was beaten the day before at a casino by Tupac's friends, but also the monetary reward allegedly promised by Combs.

For a long time, these testimonies went largely unnoticed, but in 2023, the story gained renewed attention.

Davis was arrested and officially charged in connection with the murder. He was the only surviving member of that group, as all the others had already died.

Renewed interest was also fueled by numerous recent civil lawsuits filed against Sean Combs.

Some documents explicitly suggest that he may have organized the attack on Shakur.

The materials also mention the rental of the car from which the shooting occurred and claim that Combs later allegedly boasted about his involvement.

At the same time, the Las Vegas police have never officially named Combs as a suspect.

He himself categorically denies any accusations and, through his lawyers, emphasizes that they are trying to use his name for their own benefit.

Adding further drama, Combs is simultaneously involved in another case, facing charges of racketeering, pimping, and forced transportation of people for sexual exploitation.

The jury has already delivered a mixed verdict: he was found guilty on several counts but acquitted of the most serious charges. The final court decision is expected in the fall.
