Since the beginning of the day, today, August 2, the number of combat clashes on the front line has increased to 72. The Pokrovsk direction is the hottest, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Situation in the directions

In the Kharkiv direction, there have been five clashes. Attacks near Hlyboke, Tykhe, and Vovchansk have been repelled. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian troops attempted to attack near Stelmakhivka twice. The enemy attacks have been repelled.

In the Lyman direction, Russia attacked in the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, and Torske. There have already been seven clashes.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian forces have attempted to push our troops five times. Four battles have taken place near Klishchiivka and Ivanivske. Fighting continues near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army has attacked our positions ten times. Currently, four clashes are ongoing near Toretsk, Zalizne, and New York.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the situation remains tense. Intense fighting is ongoing in the areas of Kalynove, Vozdvyzhivka, Novooleksandrivka, Ivanivka, Zhelanne, Serhiivka, Novoselivka Persha, and Yasnobrodivka. The enemy has made 25 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions.

In the Kurakhove direction, three enemy attacks have been repelled. The Russian forces attempted to advance near the settlements of Krasnohorivka and Kostyantynivka.

In the Vremivka direction, four enemy attacks have been repelled towards Velyka Novosilka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russia has attacked our positions four times.

Russian losses in the war

According to the General Staff, on July 1, during the day, the Russian army lost another 1,100 units of personnel. The Defense Forces also destroyed:

  • 3 tanks
  • 8 armored fighting vehicles
  • 42 artillery systems

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 580,000 units of personnel.
