Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 2: +1,100 troops and 42 artillery systems

Over the last day, August 1, Russia lost 1,100 soldiers and 42 artillery systems in the war against Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to August 2, 2024, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 580,590 (+1,100) Russian troops were eliminated;
- tanks - 8,402 (+3);
- armored personnel vehicles - 16,211 (+8);
- artillery systems - 16,161 (+42);
- MLRS - 1,134 (+2);
- anti-aircraft warfare systems - 907;
- aircraft - 363;
- helicopters - 326;
- UAVs of operational-tactical level - 13,005 (+37);
- cruise missiles - 2,407;
- ships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- motor vehicles and fuel tanks - 21,872 (+56);
- special equipment - 2,719 (+6).
Russians are actively advancing west of Donetsk and near Svatove in the Luhansk region.
According to ISW analysts, the reason for the rapid seizure of Ukrainian territories by the Russian army is the insufficient manning of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades.
Last night, Russians attacked Ukraine with attack drones. An air alert was declared in Kyiv and many regions.
