More than half of the weapons currently in the Armed Forces have been produced by Ukrainian companies, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated this while responding to journalists’ questions
"As of today, over 50 percent of the weapons in the Ukrainian military are of domestic production. If we consider all our expenditures on the purchase of weapons and equipment, in 2025, more than 75 percent of funds were directed to procurement from Ukrainian manufacturers," the head of the Ukrainian government said.
She specified that one of the tasks for 2026 is to further increase the share of Ukrainian-made weapons on the front line and enhance Ukraine’s ability to independently ensure its defense.
Svyrydenko expressed gratitude to all Ukrainian weapons manufacturers. They remain in constant contact with the military and continuously work to expand production capacity and improve efficiency by adapting to new conditions on the battlefield.
"It is very important for us to ensure the independence of defense production," the Prime Minister emphasized.
New weapons for Ukrainian troops
Recently, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, Colonel Andrii Zhuravlov, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Command of the Missile Forces and Artillery of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Ukrainian troops will soon receive new models of weapons and equipment, including modern drones and artillery.
Among the promising systems for the Missile Forces and Artillery, he named the 155 mm towed Marta gun with a 39-caliber barrel, as well as a 105 mm towed gun — both systems are currently undergoing testing.
At the same time, the development of missile weapons continues: the Sapsan operational-tactical missile system, the Vilkha multiple launch rocket system, and the Neptune complex with the so-called long-range missile, which is currently in the testing phase, are being upgraded.
