Over 100 Shahed drones, Iskander-M and S-300 missiles: Night attack details revealed

The Russians, on the night of 17 September, carried out a combined attack on Ukraine. The enemy used for strikes drones of various types, the ballistic missile Iskander-M/KN-23, and the surface-to-air guided missile S-300, according to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"On the night of 17 September (from 06:00 p.m. Kyiv time, on 16 September), the adversary attacked with a ballistic missile Iskander-M/KN-23 and a surface-to-air guided missile S-300 from the Rostov and Kursk regions," says the military report.
Additionally, the Russians employed 172 strike drones of various types, including Shahed and Gerbera, among others. The attack was conducted from the territory of Rostov, Kursk, Bryansk, and Orel oblasts of the Russian Federation, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea.
It is noted that over 100 drones turned out to be Shaheds.
According to the command of the Air Forces, the repulsion of the attack was executed by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW (electronic warfare), unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 09:30 a.m. Kyiv time, the defenders shot down and suppressed 136 enemy drones in the north, east, and south of the country. At the same time hits by missiles and 36 strike UAVs were recorded in 13 locations.
Attack on Ukraine 17 September
Recall, tonight the Russian occupiers delivered further strikes on cities of Ukraine.
In the Kirovohrad region, infrastructure facilities were under attack. Due to the shelling in the region, the regional centre and 44 populated places are partially disconnected from the power supply.
Also, explosions were heard in the Cherkasy region. Local authorities reported hits, but without details.
And again the Russians struck Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways). In the company, they warned about a delay in the train schedule and the cancellation of some trains.
