One Russian missile carrier in Black Sea, potential number of Kalibr revealed
A single enemy vessel, armed with Kalibr-type cruise missiles capable of launching up to four missiles, has been spotted in the Black Sea, according to the Ukrainian Navy.
Meanwhile, there are currently no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov. In the Mediterranean Sea, two Russian ships have been detected, one of which is also equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles with a similar potential launch capability.
Over the past 24 hours, 15 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait in the interests of the Russian Federation. Of these, five entered the Black Sea, with three continuing towards the Bosphorus Strait. Ten vessels headed towards the Sea of Azov, three of which also came from the Bosphorus.
At the same time, Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974 by turning off Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), jeopardizing maritime safety in the region.
On August 2, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian submarine Rostov-on-Don, resulting in the vessel sinking in temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
Analysts from Defence Express believe that the destruction of the Rostov-on-Don indicates Russia's inability to repair its submarines in the Black Sea.
