One rule to protect teeth enamel from damage
Everybody knows how important it is to take care of our teeth. Brushing twice a day, using mouthwash, and flossing regularly are all crucial steps in your oral hygiene routine. However, not everyone knows the best way to protect teeth enamel, citing expert Madam Svit.
What to do after lunch and before bedtime for your teeth?
The main rule for preserving tooth enamel is not to brush your teeth immediately after eating. Wait 30 minutes and then proceed with your oral hygiene routine.
The expert also warned that you should not snack right after brushing your teeth because this will soften the enamel again.
What is tooth enamel?
Enamel is the hard, shiny, white outer layer of your teeth that covers the underlying tissues.
It is the hardest substance in the human body – even stronger than bone – and is almost entirely composed of minerals. These minerals give enamel its strength, allowing it to protect your teeth from damage and maintain their bright, white, and healthy appearance.
However, despite this, it still requires care, as there is only a thin layer on each tooth. Enamel erosion exposes the inner layers of your teeth to air, food, and drinks, making them more vulnerable to decay.
