Olympics 2024: China wins second diving gold, Ukraine finishes fifth
Chinese athletes Lian Junjie and Yang Hao won the Olympic men's duo diving competition from the 10-meter platform. Ukrainians Kirill Boliukh and Oleksii Sereda took fifth place.
The PRC representatives competed in a league of their own. In particular, on the sixth attempt, they scored a fantastic 103.23 points with a difficulty level jump of 3.7.
Liang and Yang took the lead after the first attempts of the top eight duos. The remaining podium spots were contested by British, Canadian, Mexican, and Ukrainian athletes. Notably, after two attempts, the United Kingdom and Canada had the same number of points.
However, Thomas Daley and Noah Williams gradually pulled ahead of the North American competitors. Instead, the Canadians had to withstand the pressure of duos from Mexico and Ukraine. In the end, the Latin Americans fell behind by 3.5 points, while Boliukh and Sereda trailed by 9.5 points.

Earlier, synchronized swimmers Yani Chang and Yiwen Chen brought China its second gold medal. In diving from the three-meter springboard, they confidently beat the duos from the United States and the United Kingdom. Ukrainians Victoriya Kesar and Anna Pysmenska finished in 7th place.
