Oil pumping station in Russia's Rostov region shuts down after night drone attack

The Sukholdolnaya oil pumping station in Russia’s Rostov region halted operations after a drone attack on the night of October 1, according to Russian Telegram channels.
It is known that at least 10 drones fell on the territory of the oil pumping station, located in the Verkhnedonskoy district.
The attack caused a fire on the roof of the pump units building and a transformer.
Employees of the Sukholdolnaya station were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Earlier, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar confirmed that a fire broke out at the industrial facility due to a drone crash.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported that eight drones were shot down over the region.
NASA satellites also detected fire signatures at the Sukholdolnaya oil pumping station.
Sukholdolnaya is part of the Kuybyshev–Lysychansk oil pipeline. In 2023, the main pumping unit at the pumping station was replaced with a modern one with a capacity of 7,000 cubic meters per hour, according to Transneft.
Recently, Ukrainian forces struck the Vtorovo oil pumping station in Russia’s Vladimir region.
Earlier, the Defense Forces targeted the Nikolskoye station, halting oil transit.
Today, it was reported that Ukrainian drones have disrupted operations at 38% of Russia’s refineries, creating an unprecedented crisis in the fuel market.
