Russian forces attacked Odesa overnight on April 5, setting cars and a residential building balcony on fire and injuring two people, according to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak.

The nighttime strike hit one of Odesa's districts, where enemy shelling caused cars and a residential building balcony to catch fire. According to preliminary data, two people were injured, and information about their condition is being clarified.

Preparation for the strike

Before the attack, Ukraine's Air Force detected the movement of enemy drones toward the Odesa region. This allowed services to track the threat in advance and prepare for the consequences.

Consequences for the city

The nighttime shelling caused property damage and posed a threat to civilians' lives. All details are currently being clarified, and inspections of the area are underway to assess the damage and ensure residents' safety.

Authorities' response

The Odesa regional administration stated that all necessary measures to deal with the aftermath of the attack and provide assistance to the injured are already being taken. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

We remind that on the morning of April 4, Russian forces attacked a market in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, with drones, killing five people and injuring more than twenty.

It is also noted that on Saturday, April 4, Russian forces twice struck Naftogaz infrastructure facilities in the Poltava region, causing fires at the impact sites.
