Balanced nutrition is the foundation of good health. The great news is that incorporating certain foods into your diet can even slow down the aging process, according to dietitian Oksana Skytalinska.

Rejuvenating pesto recipe

The dietitian suggests making pesto sauce, which consists of several ingredients:

  • Spinach
  • Parsley
  • Basil
  • Garlic
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Nuts
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Olive oil
  • Lemon
  • Salt to taste

Directions

Start by crushing the nuts, which can be done with a mortar and pestle. Add the sunflower seeds and crush them as well. Squeeze the lemon into the nut mixture. Chop the basil, including the stems, and do the same with the parsley and spinach. Add the greens to the mortar and thoroughly crush them.

Next, add the grated Parmesan, lemon juice, and olive oil, and mix again in the mortar. Now, the sauce is ready to be added to dishes or simply spread on bread!
