Not just Tomahawks: Zelenskyy explains what Russia really fears

Russian forces fear not just Tomahawk missiles but the way Ukraine could integrate them with other types of weaponry, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press conference following his meeting with US President Donald Trump.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian forces fear not only Tomahawk missiles but also Ukraine’s ability to integrate them with other weapon systems. He explained that Moscow understands the potential impact such combinations could have on the battlefield.
"We’re not talking only about Tomahawks, we need a combination. That’s why they’re afraid, because they realize what we can do. That’s why they’re sending positive signals, though not to the Ukrainian side," Zelenskyy said.
Tomahawks for Ukraine
Ukraine has requested US approval to purchase Tomahawk missiles, a topic discussed during Zelenskyy’s meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House. During the public portion of the talks, Zelenskyy offered "thousands of Ukrainian drones" in exchange for the long-range missiles.
Trump, however, stopped short of approving the deal, expressing hope that the war could be resolved without sending Tomahawks to Ukraine. He reiterated that the US needs these missiles and other weapons it has been supplying to Kyiv, one of the reasons Washington is eager to see an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
