Not just Sandu: Head of European Council in Kyiv today

On Tuesday, November 21, besides Moldova's President Maia Sandu, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, arrived in Kyiv as well, according to his X post.
"Good to be back in Kyiv – among friends," he wrote.
What is known about the visit
Four days ago, Politico reported that the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, would visit Kyiv on November 21. The sources reported that Michel would visit Ukraine on the anniversary of the protests on Maidan, which began on November 21, 2013.
As Moldova's President Maia Sandu pointed out, their visit with Michel coincided not by chance - the agenda includes discussions on the next steps regarding Moldova and Ukraine's accession to the EU.
These visits are taking place on the eve of the European Council summit scheduled for December. During the summit, EU leaders will discuss the European Commission's recommendation to start official negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.
