Not all bread is healthy: Here's one to avoid

There is a variety of bread in the store, but much of it has no benefits. Which bread should not be bought is explained in a video by well-known Polish dietitian Bartek Kulczyński.
Which bread has almost no nutrients
Dietitian Bartek Kulczyński considers gluten-free bread made from starch the worst. As the expert notes, starch contains almost no nutrients.
Many such products also contain thickeners such as carboxymethylcellulose, as well as glycerin, which retains moisture, and preservatives such as calcium propionate, which allow bread to stay fresh for several months. Traditional bread would never last that long, he explains.
The biggest difficulty in producing such bread lies in replacing gluten with another natural ingredient.
"If you do not have specific recommendations for a gluten-free diet, it is better to choose another type of bread," summarizes Bartek Kulczyński.
He notes that those who can only eat gluten-free bread should look for products enriched with additives such as seeds or kernels, which increase nutritional value.
Which bread is better
It is also a good idea to bake your own gluten-free bread, which will not only be healthier but also much cheaper than store-bought. The dietitian recommends quinoa and buckwheat.
The dietitian also does not recommend white wheat bread, since it is less nutritious than bread made from dark whole-grain flour. It contains fiber as well as vitamins and minerals.
