Norway to more than double its aid to Ukraine

Norway increases funding for Ukraine's support program. The total funding will exceed $7 billion, according to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Today, the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation attended the speech of Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, during which he outlined key points in support of Ukraine:
- A weak ceasefire will only give Russia time to regroup rather than ensuring long-term peace.
- Europe, including Norway, must strengthen its own defense and support for Ukraine.
- European countries are coordinating a joint peace plan that takes Ukraine's interests into account.
"As a result of the Prime Minister's meeting with political parties in the Storting, the funding for the Nansen for Ukraine program this year will increase from $3.2 billion to $7.7 billion," the Verkhovna Rada reported.
Support for Ukraine from partners
Earlier today, it was reported that Germany has assembled a military aid package for Ukraine worth approximately €3 billion. The rapid financing of this package is currently being discussed.
At the same time, Poland has begun providing Ukraine with its 46th aid package, valued at €200 million.
Additionally, the European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced that they will sign a guarantee agreement for €1.95 billion.
This agreement will support investment programs under the Ukrainian Fund within the EU’s multiannual budget for 2024-2027.
It is also worth noting that Ukraine recently signed one of the largest security agreements in its history.
