Norway to defend key aid hub for Ukraine in Poland
Norway has agreed to provide protection for a key transit hub for foreign military aid to Ukraine, located in Poland, stated Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, according to Bloomberg.
As Tusk reported, Norway will help protect the Rzeszów-Jasionka airport, through which Ukraine receives the majority of its military aid.
The Prime Minister clarified that this assistance will be provided by Norway within the framework of NATO cooperation.
Earlier this year, the Polish government strengthened security measures around the hub due to an unprecedented level of foreign interference.
Bloomberg reports that the airport, located less than 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, handles up to 90% of Western shipments heading to the front lines.
Poland's aid to Ukraine
Ukraine has been receiving military aid from Poland since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion.
Currently, Kyiv and Warsaw are discussing the transfer of Polish MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. However, no concrete agreements have been reached yet.
