Norway shuts down Oslo airport amid drone incursion

On the night of September 23, Gardermoen Airport, located in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, was closed. The reason was the detection of unknown drones, according to Verdens Gang and Aftonbladet.
The first reports of drones over the airport appeared at 11:30 p.m. local time. After that, all traffic was diverted to one runway.
Over an hour later, another drone was spotted in the air. By that time, the airport had been completely closed to arrivals and departures.
"The airspace above Oslo Airport is closed due to the appearance of a new drone," said Monica Fast, communications manager at Gardermoen Airport.
According to Fasting, the airport closure affected 12 to 14 flights. They added that they did not have an exact time for the reopening of the airspace and advised morning passengers to check with their airlines for updates.
"We hope to reopen the airspace by then, so those flying tomorrow morning should treat their flight as normal and contact their airline," Fasting said.
