On Monday, January 12, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide arrived in Kyiv on a visit. They will discuss cooperation and peace efforts, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

According to Sybiha, Ukraine and Norway are close allies with centuries of shared history.

"We started with honouring the memory of our fallen defenders, who gave their lives to defend Ukraine and our shared values," he says.

As the Ukrainian Minister notes, today they will discuss mutually beneficial cooperation, peace efforts, defense, and Ukraine's resilience.

"Grateful to Norway for its support," he adds.

Norway's assistance to Ukraine

Norway continues to support Ukraine in both the military and humanitarian spheres.

In particular, on October 22, it became known that Norway is allocating additional funding in the amount of $150 million.

Earlier, Norway announced its intention to maintain aid to Ukraine in 2026 at the 2025 level, with the Ukrainian direction enjoying broad support in parliament.

Norway will allocate another €500 million for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine through the PURL program. Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada have joined the program.
