Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide, states that the country supports the Ukrainian Security Service's strikes on Russian airbases. These attacks comply with international law.

"Here we once again see that Ukraine adheres to international law and attacks appropriate military targets, while Russia often attacks Ukrainian cities and injures and kills civilians," Eide said.

He also noted that although the targeted bases are relatively close to Norway, there is no reason for Norway itself to be affected.

Security Service of Ukraine carried out a unique operation

Today, June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) launched a large-scale attack on Russian military airfields. According to RBC-Ukraine sources within the SBU, the special operation, named "Spiderweb," took a year and a half to prepare.

The goal was to disable the enemy's bomber aviation located deep in the rear. As a result, at least 41 Russian strategic aviation aircraft were hit.

The strikes targeted four military airfields simultaneously — Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo.

For more details about what is currently known about the large-scale and complex "Spiderweb" special operation, read RBC-Ukraine's report.

The SBU has already indicated Russia's estimated losses for today.
