North Korean balloon explodes over South Korean President's residence in Seoul
A North Korean balloon filled with trash exploded over Seoul today, October 24. Part of its contents fell on the territory of the residence of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's residence, according to the report by the Presidential Security Service (PSS).
"Early this morning, a North Korean balloon filled with trash exploded in the air, scattering debris around the Yongsan presidential compound," the Presidential Security Service said.
The PSS clarified that they are monitoring the situation in coordination with the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The balloon was filled with leaflets criticizing South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife.
Duda's visit
It is worth noting that earlier today, on October 24, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol met with Polish President Andrzej Duda.
During a joint press conference, Yoon Suk Yeol assured that South Korea will not remain idle and will respond to North Korea’s sending troops to the war against Ukraine. He also suggested the possibility of providing military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
