North Korea supplies artillery to Russia for war against Ukraine: CBS News reports
North Korea has decided to provide artillery to Russia for its war against Ukraine. It remains unclear whether North Korea receives other weapons in return for this, according to CBS News.
The news agency, citing an American official, reported the start of North Korea supplying artillery to Russia.
"It was not immediately clear whether the transfer is part of a new, long-term supply chain or a more limited consignment, or what North Korea is getting in return for the weapons," the article states.
North Korea's support for the Kremlin seems to have culminated at last month's summit in Russia when Kim Jong Un personally met with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Many expected Kim to request money and food from Putin to support North Korea's economy in exchange for his support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine, as well as for weapons and space technology.
Russia-North Korea cooperation
On September 13, dictator Kim Jong Un and his counterpart Vladimir Putin met to discuss strengthening military cooperation. The North Korean leader also met with Russia's Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu.
As reported by Western media, North Korea and Russia might have discussed the transfer of artillery ammunition to Russian terrorists.
Meanwhile, The Economist claims that Pyongyang has been supplying Moscow with artillery ammunition and Katyusha-type rockets for over a year.
