North Korea is preparing to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party with a large-scale military parade in October, according to Yonhap.

According to satellite images, since the beginning of July, on the parade ground near Mirim Airport in Pyongyang, personnel, military equipment, and vehicles have been noticed. Among them are mobile transporters of launchers, which indicates significant scales of preparation.

Preparation for this year’s parade exceeds the level of previous years. The last large parade took place in September 2023 on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the country.

It is expected that high-ranking officials from other countries will take part in the event. It is not excluded that among the guests will be the leader of China, Xi Jinping, who at the beginning of September, during a parade in Beijing, spoke about the intention to deepen exchanges at a high level with North Korea.

The jubilee parade not only marks the anniversary of the founding of the party but also demonstrates the military strength and diplomatic ties of North Korea. It is expected that the event will become one of the largest in recent years.

Previously, on September 3 in Beijing, a military parade took place in honor of the 80th anniversary of China’s victory in the war with Japan and in the Second World War. At the event, the newest equipment and weapons of the PRC army were shown.

Besides the leader of the PRC Xi Jinping at the parade there were present, in particular, the Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the head of the DPRK Kim Jong Un.

Later, Xi Jinping stated that China would strengthen strategic communications and deepen cooperation with North Korea.
