No Russian missile carriers detected in Black and Azov Seas - Ukrainian Navy
As of 06:00 on August 20, there are no missile carriers of the Kalibr type in the Black and Azov Seas. This has been observed for the third consecutive day, according to the morning report from the Ukrainian Navy.
At the same time, the military has detected two Russian vessels in the Mediterranean Sea. However, none of these are missile carriers, so there is no immediate threat.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Navy noted that over the past day, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:
- to the Black Sea - 5 vessels, 3 of which continued towards the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Azov Sea - 7 vessels, 2 of which were moving from the Bosporus Strait.
"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling Automatic Identification Systems (AIS)," the Navy reiterated.
On August 2, 2024, Ukrainian defenders struck the Russian submarine Rostov-on-Don. It was later reported that as a result of the successful attack, the vessel sank in the temporarily occupied Crimea, specifically in the city of Sevastopol.
