Center for Countering Disinformation sees no immediate threat of invasion of Ukraine from Belarus
There is no threat of an invasion of Ukraine from Belarus, according to the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko.
"For some reason, many people confuse the north, which Budanov (Kyrylo, the head of the intelligence - ed.) is talking about, and Belarus. These are different things. There is no threat of an offensive from Belarus," he said.
What Budanov said
In an interview with NV, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov commented on the threat of an invasion in the north of Ukraine, given the Kremlin's desire to mobilize another 300,000 Russians.
Situation on the border with Belarus
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of July 14, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
On July 13, the self-proclaimed leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, ordered the withdrawal of troops after "tensions near the border with Ukraine." He had reported the "tension" on the same day, but earlier.
