This tender pear cake is made without a gram of flour, yet its taste easily rivals desserts from the finest patisseries. It's the perfect choice for cozy autumn tea time, says Liliia Tsvit, a Ukrainian well-known cook and food blogger.

Flourless pear cake: Easy recipe

Ingredients:

  • Semolina – 200 g
  • Kefir – 200 g
  • Eggs – 2
  • Sugar – 50 g
  • Baking soda – 5 g
  • Cocoa powder – 20 g
  • Pears – 400 g
  • Butter – 20 g
  • Sugar – 30 g

Instructions:

In a bowl, combine semolina, kefir, eggs, sugar, and baking soda. Mix everything thoroughly and leave it for 30 minutes to let the semolina swell.

In a pan, melt the butter, add sugar, and sliced pears. Simmer, stirring constantly.

Line a baking pan with parchment paper and spread the pears evenly over the bottom. Add cocoa powder to the semolina mixture and stir. Spread the batter evenly over the pears.

Bake for 35 minutes at 150°C (300°F).
