Nighttime Russian attack on Mykolaiv causes fires, destruction, and mass casualties

During the night leading into Thursday, Russia struck Mykolaiv with kamikaze drones. Nine apartment buildings, dozens of garages, and cars were damaged, and ten people were injured, the Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine report.
According to Kim, around 2:45 a.m. Kyiv time on the night of April 10, "the enemy attacked the regional center with Shahed 131/136-type UAVs."
"Due to falling debris and the blast wave, nine apartment buildings, three cars, 30 garages, and an administrative building were damaged," the Ukrainian official said.
In addition, the Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration added that fires broke out in an apartment and on the territory of a garage cooperative in Mykolaiv, which were promptly extinguished.
"Due to the 'Shahed' attack, 10 people were injured. As of the morning, a 29-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man are in the hospital in moderate condition. The rest received outpatient care,' Kim reported.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that an apartment caught fire in the courtyard of a five-story building due to falling debris from an enemy UAV, and other dwellings were also damaged.
"Rescuers evacuated a woman with limited mobility, and Red Cross volunteers provided assistance," the emergency service stated.
In other locations, fires in two cars and a garage were extinguished, according to the emergency responders.
"In one of the private houses, a mother and her three children were trapped by the blast wave - all were rescued. Ten people were injured. Three of them were hospitalized with injuries," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine noted.
In total, 47 rescuers and 9 units of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences.
Last night, due to the threat of kamikaze drone strikes by the enemy, air raid alerts were declared in several regions of Ukraine, as well as in Kyiv.
Later, explosions were heard in Kyiv, and air defense systems operated due to the drone attack. The fires and the destruction of a building were recorded in two districts of Kyiv, and one person was trapped under the rubble.
