Explosions were heard in Mykolaiv tonight, April 10, as the city is under Russian airstrike attack, according to Mykolaiv's mayor, Oleksandr Senkevych.

Aerial alerts were declared for the Mykolaiv region tonight due to the threat of drone strikes from Russia. Residents of Mykolaiv were also warned about the danger of Shaheds.

At 02:53 AM, the mayor announced explosions in Mykolaiv amid the drone attack.

"Explosions are heard in Mykolaiv. There is a threat from kamikaze drones to the city!" he wrote.

Meanwhile, local Mykolaiv groups and channels reported several Russian UAV strikes across various parts of the city and mentioned the operation of air defense systems in response to the Shahed drones.

Residents are urged to remain in safe locations until the all-clear signal.

Fires broke out in Mykolaiv following attack

Later, the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, reported fires in the city as a result of the aerial strike. "After the Shahed attack, there are two fires in the city. Emergency services are working," the official informed.

At 03:30 AM, Mayor Senkevych reported damages in the city due to the enemy drone attack and mentioned that emergency services "have already been deployed to the sites."

"There is damage. We are working and assessing the consequences. More information will follow," the mayor stated.

Updated: Injuries in Mykolaiv

At 03:55 AM, the head of the Mykolaiv regional administration reported that there are injuries in the city due to the enemy drone attack.

According to him, two people were hospitalized, and others are receiving medical assistance on-site.

Nighttime drone attack

On the evening of April 9, air alerts were declared in several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, due to the threat of Shahed drones. Several groups of UAVs were launched from different directions.

Around midnight, explosions were heard in Kyiv, and reports mentioned the activation of air defense systems in response to the Kamikaze drone strikes.

Later, it was confirmed that fires and destruction of buildings had occurred in two districts of Kyiv, and one person was reported to be trapped.
