Night strikes in Kharkiv: Family burned alive in house
In one of the private residential houses, a family of 5 people was killed in a fire provoked by Russian strikes, reports Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
As Syniehubov reported, 5 people died in the fire:
- a man with his wife;
- their three children aged 7 months, 7, and 4 years.
"The fire was caused by a fuel leak, followed by the release of a dangerous substance onto the street where the residential sector is located. The man's body was found in the house corridor, while the mother and children attempted to escape in the bathroom. Search efforts for the youngest boy are ongoing," the head of the RMA said.
In another house, the following individuals perished:
- a 66-year-old man;
- his 65-year-old wife.
Among those affected by the fire and night strikes were:
- two women aged 61 and 39;
- a 45-year-old man.
"All circumstances are being established. Relevant services are working at the scene. Updates will be provided," added the head of the RMA.
According to the chief of the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, Serhii Bolvinov, witnesses reported the sounds of Shahed. Currently, investigators are gathering all expert evidence to legally prove that Russia is deliberately targeting civilian objects.
"From a legal standpoint, this is a violation of the laws and customs of war, and both the state as a whole and specific individuals are accountable for it. We will pursue the case to the end. We have contacted the relatives of the deceased family. We need to collect DNA samples for analysis," Bolvinov noted.
