On the night of April 18, Russia attacked Ukraine with 219 strike drones from seven directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy UAVs, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

From evening to morning, the Russians attacked with 21 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of UAVs from the following directions: Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea).

About 150 of the launched drones were Shahed-type UAVs.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:30, air defense shot down/neutralized 190 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.

At the same time, 28 strike drones hit 17 locations, and debris from downed drones fell at 9 locations.

"The attack is ongoing, several enemy drones are still in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.

Strikes on Ukraine

Recall that on the night of April 18, the enemy attacked a key energy facility in the Nizhyn district of Chernihiv region. As a result of the strike, 380,000 consumers were left without electricity.

Russian forces also struck a private residential building in the city of Bohodukhiv in Kharkiv region using a drone.

That night, Russian troops attacked residential areas of Zaporizhzhia with drones. One person was reported injured, and fires broke out.

In addition, Russia carried out a targeted strike on port infrastructure and logistics in Odesa region. A fire broke out, damage was recorded, and one person was injured.
