Russian forces attacked Ukraine in two waves overnight on February 25. Initially, missile launches were recorded, followed by Shahed attacks, reports the Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk.

"At the beginning of the night, the enemy attempted to destroy our air defense systems from the Black Sea using tactical aviation using X-31P missiles, but they were shot down over the sea. Then, waves of drones followed. Tonight, they had branching attacks both in direction and in time," said Humeniuk.

The first attack was initially directed towards the Mykolaiv region, followed by the next targeting central regions before shifting westwards. The air defense forces of the South successfully repelled the first and second waves.

Additionally, the head of the press center of the Southern Operational Command reported:

  • 1 drone was destroyed over the Kherson region;
  • 2 drones over the Kirovohrad region;
  • 3 drones over the Mykolaiv region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have shot down drones on the night of February 25. They stated that the drones flew over the Belgorod region and the Black Sea. According to the Ministry, Ukrainian drones were allegedly involved in the attack.
