Night attack on Ukraine: Air Force reports on downed targets
On the night of February 15, Russian aggressors once again attacked Ukraine. The Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 13 out of 26 missiles launched by the Russians, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
"On the night of February 15, 2024, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with air-launched cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55, sea-launched missiles Kalibr, ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23, guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300, and guided aviation missiles Kh-59," the statement said.
A total of 26 launches of various types of missiles were recorded, namely:
- 12 air-launched cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 from strategic aviation aircraft Tu-95MS (Engels);
- six ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23 (Voronezh region);
- two cruise missiles Kalibr (Novorossiysk, Russia);
- four guided aviation missiles Kh-59 (temporarily occupied territories, Zaporizhzhia region, Kursk region, Russia);
- two guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300 (Belgorod region, Russia).
The Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces destroyed 13 missiles of various types:
- eight air-launched cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55;
- one ballistic missile Iskander-M/KN-23;
- two cruise missiles Kalibr;
- two guided aviation missiles Kh-59.
The attack on Ukraine on February 15
Russian invaders carried out a mass attack on Ukraine on the night of February 15. Explosions were heard in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Poltava region.
In Lviv, a missile hit within the city limits. More than 10 missiles were targeted at the region by the occupiers. Two people were injured as a result of the attack.
