Next Ramstein meeting to take place in Germany: Date revealed
The next face-to-face meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein group) is scheduled for March 19, according to the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) in a statement to Radio Svoboda.
"The US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin plans to hold a personal meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, on March 19, 2024," the press service writes.
It is noted that Austin has invited defense ministers as well as senior military officials to discuss the war in Ukraine, as well as security issues faced by US allies and partners.
Ramstein format meeting
The meeting in the Ramstein format is a series of diplomatic meetings of defense ministers from dozens of countries worldwide. The purpose of the meetings is to synchronize and accelerate the provision of military assistance to Ukraine amid its confrontation with Russian aggression. Specifically, issues related to supporting Ukraine after the end of the war are being addressed.
The nineteenth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group took place on February 19. This was the first meeting attended by the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
