Next Ramstein meeting and PURL: Ukraine's NATO envoy reveals details of cooperation with allies
Ramstein group and the PURL program will focus on funding defense packages already approved by the United States through the end of 2026, stated Alyona Getmanchuk, head of Ukraine’s Mission to NATO, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
Funding weapons for Ukraine
Getmanchuk revealed details about the current funding of weapons packages for Ukraine within the framework of the Ramstein meetings and the PURL program.
"We are currently working to fund the packages already proposed by the United States. There are specific lists of weapons that correspond to our priority needs," she said.
According to Getmanchuk, the US side is ready to deliver them to Ukraine.
"At the upcoming Ramstein meeting, I hope there will be countries that will signal their readiness to provide additional funding to finance these packages," she said.
Getmanchuk added that PURL can be funded by:
- European NATO countries,
- Canada,
- Alliance partners.
"At present, we have three NATO partners that have also made contributions: Australia, New Zealand and Japan," the head of Ukraine’s Mission to NATO said.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that, according to Getmanchuk, Ukraine is receiving additional interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems through a special mechanism involving European NATO member states.
In addition, Getmanchuk said that NATO’s recognition of Ukraine as a contributor to security in its declaration shows that the Alliance has assessed the potential of Ukraine’s capabilities to strengthen the organization.
Furthermore, the PURL program provides Ukraine with a basic monthly supply of PAC-3 and PAC-2 interceptors. However, this is not enough, the head of Ukraine’s Mission to NATO added.
