New WTA update: Yastremska moves up, stars drop

Following the conclusion of the third Grand Slam of the season, Wimbledon 2025, the global WTA tennis rankings have been updated. Although Ukrainian tennis players showed mixed results on the grass-court major, only one of them managed to improve her position within the top 100, according to the WTA.
Yastremska is the only one among the leaders who moved up
Dayana Yastremska was the only Ukrainian player in the WTA top 100 to show a positive trend.
Thanks to a sensational victory over world No. 2 Coco Gauff and the "neutral" player Anastasia Zakharova, Dayana reached the third round at Wimbledon and climbed three spots to rank 39th in the world (1,306 points).
Svitolina and Kostyuk fall back
Ukraine's No. 1 player, Elina Svitolina, despite reaching the third round of Wimbledon (her worst personal result at the tournament in the last four years), dropped one position and is now ranked 14th (2,794 points).
Marta Kostyuk also regressed. She exited a grass-court major in the first round for the first time in her career and fell to 27th place (1,616 points).
Yuliia Starodubtseva, who exited Wimbledon in the second round for the second year in a row, also lost ground, dropping four places to 72nd (895 points).
Biggest jump and other changes
Oleksandra Oliynykova showed the biggest progress among Ukrainian players in the top 200. After failing to qualify for Wimbledon, she returned to clay-court ITF tournaments and claimed the biggest title of her career, an ITF W75. This result allowed her to make a big leap of 23 positions, and she now ranks 170th (422 points).
Other Ukrainian tennis players:
- Anhelina Kalinina – 123rd (−6 positions, 603 points)
- Daria Snigur – 201st (−39 positions, 356 points)
- Anastasiia Sobolieva – 233rd (+1 position, 312 points)
- Valeriya Strakhova – 255th (+1 position, 288 points)
- Lesia Tsurenko – 294th (−4 positions, 235 points)
