In the Kharkiv region, the air alert lasted for over two days. This is the longest alert in the region since the beginning of the full-scale war, according to the air alert map.

The air alert in Kharkiv region was announced on July 23 at 06:31 p.m. and only ended today, July 25, at 09:02 p.m. The total duration was two days, two hours, and 31 minutes.

As of now, there is a new air alert in the Kharkiv region. It was announced at 09:13 p.m.

The previous unfortunate record was set on July 9, when the alert in the Kharkiv region lasted for one day, 14 hours, and 16 minutes.

It is worth noting that in some areas of the Kharkiv region, which are frontline zones, air alerts are announced separately due to the threat of artillery shelling. Therefore, they have been ongoing since May.

What preceded

In early May, Russian forces re-invaded Kharkiv region from the north. Fierce battles began in the border settlements.

In particular, the enemy attempted to advance within 25-30 kilometers of Kharkiv to start shelling the city with artillery and create panic among the local population.

However, Ukrainian defenders thwarted the Russians' plans. By late May, local authorities reported that the front line in the northern part of Kharkiv region had been stabilized. The enemy also suffered significant losses.

At the same time, according to data from the American Institute for the Study of War, the Russian army recently achieved some successes in this section of the front.
