New US Defense Secretary Pete Hegset will participate in the upcoming Ramstein meeting on Ukraine aid. The meeting is scheduled for February 12 at NATO's headquarters in Brussels, Politico reports.

Hegset will travel to Europe next week. Politico's sources report that he will attend the meeting at NATO's headquarters in Brussels.

However, as previously stated, the meeting will be chaired by the UK.

The agency notes that while the US could potentially lead future Ramstein meetings, the administration of President Donald Trump has not committed to future military support for Ukraine. No further pledges from the US are expected next week.

Ramstein

It was announced today that the United Kingdom is convening another Ramstein meeting. The contact group will gather at NATO's headquarters in Brussels on February 12.

The meeting is set to take place ahead of the NATO defense ministers' meeting to discuss priorities for Ukraine.

The last Ramstein meeting took place on January 9, 2025, before Donald Trump officially became the US President. There were concerns that after Trump's inauguration, the Ramstein format could be restructured.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reassured that the question of whether the Ramstein format will continue is not being raised.
