New iPhone SE 4: Apple may unveil budget-friendly model in coming days

The next-generation iPhone SE may be unveiled as early as next week. It is expected that Apple will not hold a presentation for the iPhone SE 4, but will present the device through a press release, reports MacRumors.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to have an iPhone 14-style design, with Apple removing the thick bezels and the Touch ID home button that are present in the current iPhone SE. After the release of the iPhone SE 4, the use of Touch ID in the iPhone line will be permanently discontinued.
Apple plans to equip the iPhone SE 4 with its own modem developed internally. This will be the first iPhone with Apple's new modem chip. While it won't be as advanced as Qualcomm's modems, it's an important step for Apple to reduce its dependence on third-party manufacturers.
The iPhone SE 4 will support Apple Intelligence and will be equipped with the same A18 chip as the iPhone 16, as well as 8 GB of RAM. In addition, the device will be equipped with a USB-C port, which will allow it to be sold in Europe again. The main camera is expected to feature a single 48-megapixel lens.
The current iPhone SE costs at least $359, but due to a more powerful processor, Face ID, and other updates, the price of the new model may increase. However, the cost is likely to remain below $500 so that the smartphone can compete with budget models from Samsung and Google.
According to Mark Gurman, Apple may present the iPhone SE 4 simultaneously with the new PowerBeats Pro 2 headphones, which are expected to be announced on February 11.
