New head appointed for the Southern Regional Border Guard Office
In the South Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, there have been changes in leadership. The office is now headed by Brigadier General Yuriy Petriv, according to the South Regional Office.
"In the South Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the personnel were introduced to the new leader, Brigadier General Yuriy Petriv," as stated in the announcement.
The new leader was introduced by the Chairman of the State Border Guard Service, Serhiy Deyneko.
Deyneko mentioned that Brigadier General Yuriy Petriv is one of the most experienced leaders in the border agency. He served in the most challenging times on the eastern border of Ukraine for the last five years and was also the Deputy Head of the Eastern Regional Office and the Head of the Operational and Military Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"His military service experience within the border agency and his appointment as the head of the South Regional Office will enhance the protection and defense of the state border on the southern direction," stated Deyneko.
From 2019 to 2022, Yuriy Petriv served as the head of the Luhansk Border Guard Unit named after Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Pikus.
