The head of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stéphane Séjourné, has arrived in Kyiv for a visit, according to the Twitter account of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Stéphane Séjourné arrived in Kyiv for his first on-site visit to continue French diplomatic efforts and reaffirm France's commitment to its allies and the civilian population," the press service stated.

As the minister emphasized, France's support to Ukraine is a long-term commitment.
"For almost 2 years, Ukraine has been at the forefront, defending its sovereignty and ensuring the security of Europe. France's assistance is long-term. This is confirmed by my visit to Kyiv on my first trip," stated the head of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

What to expect from the visit
As reported by Le Figaro, the minister will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv to demonstrate France's support for Ukraine.
Initially, the visit to Ukraine was scheduled with former minister Catherine Colonna, but Sejourné was appointed in her place.
It's also worth noting that on January 8, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne resigned from her position, and on the following day, January 9, French President Emmanuel Macron appointed 34-year-old Minister of Education Gabriel Attal to the position.
