New air defense format and key to peace: Zelenskyy reveals details of talk with Trump

During the conversation with US President Donald Trump, a new format for defending Ukraine’s skies against Russian attacks was discussed, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, the call with Trump was long and very detailed, and European leaders also participated.
The discussion primarily focused on how to push the situation toward a real peace.
"We discussed different options, and the most important is pressure, using strong measures, particularly economic ones, to force an end to the war. The key to peace is depriving Russia’s war machine of money, depriving it of resources," Zelenskyy said.
Another topic was maximizing the protection of Ukrainian airspace, since until peace is achieved, Ukrainians should not be exposed to constant Russian attacks, and Russian missiles and drones should not take lives.
"Ukraine has proposed a format for protecting our skies for the US to consider," the President said.
Zelenskyy thanked Trump for his support of the Ukrainian people. The parties also agreed on further contacts.
Zelenskyy’s conversation with European leaders and Trump
The call between President Zelenskyy, European leaders, and US President Donald Trump took place following the Coalition of the Willing meeting.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that the US and Europe agreed to discuss sanctions on Russian oil and gas within the next 24 hours.
According to media reports, during the conversation, Trump also demanded that European leaders put pressure on China, as Beijing continues to finance Russian aggression against Ukraine.
