New aftershock occurred in Myanmar after a powerful earthquake

A new 5.1-magnitude earthquake has been recorded in Myanmar. It occurred a few days after a devastating quake that killed more than 1,700 people, The Guardian informs.
The United States Geological Survey states that the 5.1-magnitude aftershock occurred in the town of Mattar, 28 kilometers northwest of Mandalay, where the first earthquake was recorded.
It is noted that the new tremor was recorded on Sunday, March 30. According to Associated Press, there were no reports of new damage.
Updated data shows that the death toll from the devastating earthquake in Myanmar has risen to 1,700. Around 3,400 people have been injured, and approximately 300 are still missing.
These figures are not final, and the number of fatalities is expected to rise.
Powerful earthquake in Myanmar
