As part of Ukraine’s EU accession process, a new program is being launched. It is called the Ukraine Transition Program and is planned for three years, said Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha at a press conference.

According to him, the Ukrainian side is particularly counting on Denmark’s EU presidency and expects that the negotiation clusters for EU accession will open soon.

"Today, Lars (Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen - ed.) will officially launch the new Ukraine Transition Program," the Ukrainian minister said.

He also emphasized that this systematic integration project is designed for three years, with a budget of €375 million. The program will focus on three key areas.

"The three key areas are resilience support and early recovery, energy security and the transition to green energy, and the development of democratic institutions," Sybiha added.

Earlier, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka stated that Ukraine has reached the "home stretch" of reviewing its legislation for compliance with EU standards.

Ukraine’s EU accession has been included as a separate point in the forthcoming security guarantees. Kyiv insists that the negotiation clusters open as early as 2025.

Among most EU members, there is consensus on this. The only country opposing it is Hungary. Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed surprise over this, noting that even Russia does not oppose Ukraine joining the EU.

As Hungarian Minister Péter Szijjártó stated, Budapest does not care "what Moscow thinks about Ukraine’s EU membership".
