Netherlands unveils €175 mln military aid package for Ukraine

Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, said that the Netherlands will provide Ukraine with 100 radars for detecting drones and 20 transport vehicles for medical evacuation as part of a new aid package worth 175 million euros, according to Reuters.
It is expected that the delivery of radars, which will help identify approaching drones and transmit data to air defense systems, will be completed by the end of the year.
The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands clarified that 80 million euros from the package will go to support drones through the international drone coalition.
Brekelmans reported that this step followed a 500 million euro agreement for the production of 600,000 drones with the Ukrainian defense industry ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague.
Assistance from the Netherlands
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion in early 2022, the Netherlands has decided to provide Ukraine with military support worth about 10 billion euros.
At the beginning of June, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands Ruben Brekelmans stated that the Netherlands would transfer to Ukraine a military aid package in the field of maritime security worth 400 million euros. It includes ships, boats, and maritime drones.
Let us recall that on June 24–25 in The Hague (Netherlands) a NATO countries summit will take place. Within the framework of the summit, a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO Council will also take place.
