Netherlands delivers final F-16s to training center in Romania
The Netherlands has delivered its final F-16 fighter jets to a training center in Romania, where Ukrainian pilots and personnel are being trained, according to Sky News.
The Netherlands has been one of the driving forces behind the international coalition to supply Ukraine with F-16s to strengthen its air defense against Russia's invasion.
The country has now delivered the final two of the 18 promised F-16 fighter jets.
Earlier this fall, the Netherlands retired its last F-16s from active service. The country's Ministry of Defense showed a video of the “official farewell” to the aircraft.
Ukraine received its first F-16s from the Netherlands at the end of July.
At the time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the number of F-16s currently in Ukraine was not enough, but the country is awaiting additional jets from its partners.
