Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone call with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, and received an invitation to the White House in the near future, according to Reuters.

According to Netanyahu’s office, during the call, the two leaders discussed a number of important issues related to security and stability in the Middle East.

Among the key topics were the disarmament of the Palestinian militant group Hamas and the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, as well as the possibility of establishing diplomatic relations between Israel and countries that do not currently recognize it.

The Israeli prime minister’s office noted that Trump emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the two countries on matters of regional security and strategic interests. For this reason, Netanyahu received a personal invitation from Donald Trump to meet at the White House in the near future.

At the same time, representatives of the prime minister’s office said that the exact date of Netanyahu’s visit to Washington will be announced soon.

Israeli operations in the Middle East

On 9 September, the Israel Defense Forces carried out a strike on Qatar’s capital, Doha.

The IDF stated that the goal of the operation was to eliminate senior Hamas figures who directly participated in organizing the attacks of 7 October 2023 and coordinated subsequent military actions against Israel.

According to media reports, the strike allegedly received personal approval from Donald Trump.

However, the US president denied any involvement and stressed that the decision was solely Netanyahu’s.
