Netanyahu heading to Washington for talks with Trump on Gaza, hostages, and tariffs

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed his visit to the US. The official is already heading to Washington for a meeting with Donald Trump, reports CNN.
Leaving Budapest, Netanyahu stated that he was heading to the White House at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. The Israeli Prime Minister also revealed the topics that will be discussed.
"(To discuss -ed.) the hostages, completing the victory in Gaza, and of course the tariff regime that has also been imposed on Israel. I hope I can help with this issue. That is the intention," Netanyahu said, according to CNN.
According to a statement from Netanyahu's office, the meeting will also address relations between Israel, Türkiye, and Iran, as well as Israel's battle with the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC previously issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, accusing him of war crimes in Gaza.
Speaking about the latter issue, the Israeli Prime Minister stated during his visit to Budapest that Hungary is "a very close friend of Israel."
"It defends us in the European Union, it defends us in the United Nations, and no less so — in the corrupt International Criminal Court in The Hague," Netanyahu said.
CNN reported that Hungary withdrew from the ICC last week.
Trump's tariffs against Israel
Benjamin Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to meet with Donald Trump after the announcement of tariffs against most countries worldwide. Specifically, this week, the US administration announced a 17% tariff on imports from Israel.
Previously, Netanyahu's government had decided to cancel tariffs on imports of goods from the US. Thus, the country aimed to avoid US tariffs. However, this did not occur.
Recently, it became known that Donald Trump had spoken with representatives of Israel, Vietnam, and India regarding the review of the tariffs he imposed.
