On the night of December 21, Russia attacked Ukraine using 97 attack drones. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 75 enemy UAVs, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on December 20 until the morning of December 21, Russia launched 97 attack drones of the Shahed type, Gerbera, and UAVs of other types from the following directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Hvardiiske and Chauda in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. About 60 of them were Shahed drones.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 75 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type, Gerbera, and drones of other types in the north, south, west, and east of the country.

Nineteen attack drones were recorded hitting eight locations, while debris from downed drones fell at one location.

"The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.

Shelling of Ukraine

As a reminder, on the night of Sunday, December 21, the Russian army struck the Rivne region, damaging a civilian facility.

Yesterday, December 20, Russian occupiers carried out an airstrike on the Bashtanka district of the Mykolaiv region, likely using guided aerial bombs. A man was wounded, and warehouses were destroyed.

In addition, Russian forces struck the port of Pivdennyi in Odesa. Fuel storage tanks were hit.
